Austria Healthcare
With Bell ID® Identity Token Manager and Bell ID® Key Manager jointly forming the core engine of the entire Austrian Social Security e-card architecture, Bell ID provided a web-based solution for the Central Association of Austrian Social Insurance Institutions to centrally manage the complete life cycle of all cards for citizens and practitioners. The new e-card contains personal card holder data as well as four digital certificates for data security and verification of the cardholder’s identity.
Furthermore, the system is compliant with the strict regulations as laid down in the Austrian Signature Law. To date, over 8 million e-cards have been issued, with Bell ID® Identity Token Manager enabling the production of up to 70,000 card files per day. A card holder service portal enables citizens to apply for and download additional digital certificates and applications to their e-cards using Bell ID’s Post-Issuance Personalization module, which forms the backbone of the service portal.
